You can never go wrong with Fall Fashion! It’s definitely my favorite time of year to dress up or even dress down and get cozy. I love the endless layers and pulling out my booties from my closet. I love shopping for Fall essentials especially on a budget. I hope you enjoy my Fall Favorites for this season. Let me know which ones you adore most!
My package from ShopMissA has arrived! I ended up buying a whole lot of lip products, brushes, and more! Now that Fall has rolled around I was motivated to buy more lippies, and I was in need of pretty much every color. If you haven’t heard of ShopMissA all of their products are $1! I bought almost every color of Kleancolor’s Madly Matte Lip Glosses (these are similar to liquid lipsticks). I swatched some of my favorite shades below! They are all highly pigmented, and they definitely stay in place! Took me awhile to wash these off. ShopMissA carries multiple brands, all for the same price! I can’t tell you how much fun it is to order from them and open the package and see all the items in person. The makeup tools I received are also of really great quality from the brand AOA Studio, I highly recommend their products! I have noticed that they tend to sell out from time to time so be aware of that, but they come back in stock quite frequently. I would recommend signing up for their email list, that’s what I do!
I also bought some eyeshadow brushes, beauty sponges, and a makeup bag (which I totally love, so adorable!) from the brand AOA Studio. Can I just say these brushes are amazing?! Also, for the price I can officially say this was a major steal!
Have you ever ordered from ShopMissA? xoxo, McKenzie
Hey, long time no blogging! It’s been awhile, but I’m so thrilled to finally be posting again, and updating you all on my recent finds and adventures. I recently visited my favorite place on earth — Disneyland. I’m someone that has been there hundreds of times, but every time is just as good as the last. This time, I decided to photograph some moments, it was such an amazing time. Something you may or may not know about me is I live, breathe, sleep – Disney. I flew down from Portland, I was celebrating my best friend’s birthday at the parks. We were staying at the Disneyland Hotel, it was a dream! If you have ever been to Disneyland you would know that the parks are always crowded. We spent most of our day meeting characters, taking pictures, and going on the rides with few to no wait times.
Also, the craziest thing happened to me during one of the mornings in the park. Gaston, a character from ‘Beauty and the Beast’, who is quite popular in Walt Disney World appeared for the first time in Disneyland (you can find him in Fantasyland if you’re wondering) the week I was there, and we saw and met him, finally! He definitely knows his way with the ladies, that’s for sure!
I’m so grateful for air transportation and to celebrate birthdays and moments with the people I love that live thousands of miles away from me. Capturing these moments, and having such an amazing weekend at the happiest place on earth is what I love most.
Let’s talk about high school for a moment. We all go through it one time or another. You may be going through it right now, or like me have already experienced what it’s really like. I think for myself I held such high expectations for high school. I wanted my four years there to be perfect, with the perfect boyfriend, and best friends that stood by my side. Well, it wasn’t all that glamorous. Looking back, I can say that I’ve changed a lot, grown a lot, since then. I wish I could give advice to high school self if that makes sense?
Being popular doesn’t matter.
I wish my teenage-self saw the bigger picture like I do now. At the end of the day, the ‘in-crowd’ or whatever you may call it, really doesn’t matter. In high school, it was so hard for me to realize that. I wanted to fit in so badly, be friends with everyone, be seen as ‘cool’. I got lost in translation of who I really was at that time in my life. And in high school, it made me extremely insecure why I wasn’t seen as ‘popular’. Was I not pretty enough? I would start to compare my looks, my clothes, my car, and in my mind I thought I wasn’t good enough. I’ve realized now that the thoughts of others aren’t important as the thoughts you have about yourself. If you think you’re the most beautiful girl, then girl you flaunt it and show everyone what you’re made of! I wish I could go back and tell myself now that it doesn’t matter what they think of you, or how they see you. Make friends, be happy, but don’t compare yourself to others. You’re beautiful just the way you are and if people can’t see that, then they are missing out!
Your heart will go on.
Cue the Celine Dion lyrics. But seriously, girl, don’t waste your time on silly boys that aren’t worth your tears. I really can’t stress this enough. I feel in high school we are naive, young at heart, but we want the most for ourselves. I was one of those girls that fell too easy. I would look into that cute boy’s eyes across the classroom and *bam* instant crush. At one point I thought a guy I talk to, like, twice, was the love of my life. Oh boy, was I wrong. Don’t get me wrong, there are couples that I was friends with in high school that are still holding strong, which I applaud them for. But realistically, you might not find the love of your life in high school. And I wish I could tell myself that school is more important because it is. I was so young, and boys shouldn’t have held my focus and my world at that time of my life. Chances are most boys aren’t looking for a serious relationship in high school, and you shouldn’t either. I wish I could’ve told myself to focus more on school, have fun, and put yourself first. High school boys aren’t worth the heartache.
“Friends” will come and go.
I thought I was going to be friends the people I knew in high school, for forever. Sometimes, I look back and ask myself, “What happened?”. Let me tell you, people do grow apart. Some people change, and that’s okay. We can’t dwell on that and blame ourselves for a friendship that just didn’t work out. I always tell myself, if it wasn’t meant to be, it wasn’t meant to be. Simple as that. But watching your “friends” walk out of your life in an instant is a hard pill to swallow. Those people that told you that they would stick it to the end, that they’d be there by your side no matter what. I wish I could tell myself, that real, genuine friends stick by your side. The people that love you, for you – not love you, for that moment. It’s still hard to think about. But I’d rather have four quarters than a hundred pennies. It’s also important to remember, that new people will come into your life. There is always a possibility of new relationships.
I can easily say my favorite season is Spring. I’ve noticed that I have a collection of makeup products that I use for a certain time of year. For Spring, pops of pinks and simple, delicate eyes are the looks I prefer season-round in particular to Spring. I just love to keep things fresh, highlighted, and pink. The products I use for this Spring are my go-to’s.
The first product is my travel-size Benefit Porefessional Primer, it’s amazing for the spring and covering up those pores while keeping my makeup smooth and long lasting. I highly recommend this product for any skin type, it’s not meant for hydrating but it’s a great primer to apply onto your problem areas to help your makeup stay on and last all day. The next product is my go-to highlight. It’s not what you’d expect, it’s a liquid highlighter. Which I have been really impressed by. It’s from Becca Cosmetics in the shade Opal. When applied to my skin it’s a bit darker but after blended out the color fades and leaves a beautiful dewy highlight. You can also pack on as much as you want to the highlight you desire – I just love it! For blush, I’ve been using a cream formula from Bellapierre Cosmetics, in the color ‘Coral’ – this is SO beautiful! I’m wearing it on my cheeks below. For eyes, I’ve been using TooFaced’s Natural Matte Eyeshadow palette. It includes soft browns and nudes (I might do a separate review w/ swatches for you guys because I love this product so much!). For mascara, the Lash Sensational by Maybelline is absolutely amazing! If you haven’t tried it yet, you need to! I’ve been through multiple mascaras – high end, low end, that haven’t done much for my lashes, but this one brings my lashes to life! For lips I’ve been using two awesome products, NYX’s Butter Gloss in ‘Tiramisu’ and Bite Beauty’s Lipstick in ‘Pepper’. Both are such beautiful lip products for Spring and give that extra, nude pop of pink! My last product is the last one I use during my makeup routine, it’s MAC’s Studio Fix+! This stuff helps my makeup last longer and helps hydrate my dry skin especially when I have to apply powders and such to my face. This product definitely just perfects your makeup and it’s one of my favorites!
Let me know what your favorite makeup products for Spring are!
I just recently entered into the world of MAC Lipsticks, and I don’t know why I waited so long! These lipsticks are absolutely fantastic – Peach Blossom (left), Creme Cup (right). I wear these every, single day. I love the similarities and differences between the two lipsticks. I find that Peach Blossom works well with outfits that have warmer tones and gold jewelry. Whereas Creme Cup has a more blue undertone to it and looks so flattering with cooler tone shirts and dresses. Both lipsticks are ‘Cremesheen’, which is a creamy formula that MAC offers, I absolutely love it! I love the fact you can build up the lipsticks and they are super hydrating! You do have to reapply during the day but it’s a perfect lipstick for a boost of liveliness to your lips. You could say I’m in love! These won’t disappoint, I can promise you that!
